The Single Site Laparoscopy Access System is an abdominal access system comprised of a seal cap with accessories (retractor insertion tool and reducer cap), and a fixed-length retractor. The assembled device maintains peritoneal gas pressure while allowing for insertion of multiple surgical instruments through a single incision into the abdominal cavity.

Seal Cap

Features of the sterile single-patient-use seal cap assembly include:

• (2) 5mm seals and (1) 5 to 15mm seal within an inner seal housing.
• Retractor attachment ring – contained in a single, low-profile plastic housing.
• Retractor protector – can be used to prevent potential damage to the retractor during instrument insertion.
• Reducer cap, pre-attached to the 15mm seal – accommodates use with a 5mm instrument.
• Stopcock valve – compatible with standard Luer lock fittings and provides attachment for gas insufflation and desufflation.
• Retractor insertion tool.

Fixed-Length Retractor

The fixed-length retractor consists of two flexible rings interconnected by a silicone sleeve. Features of the sterile single-patient-use fixed length retractor include:

• Retractors are available in 2cm and 4cm sizes to accommodate a wide range of abdominal wall thicknesses.
• Each retractor uses a single incision between 1.5cm and 3.5cm, as directed by the needs of the procedure and patient.
• Retractors provide circumferential wound retraction and serve as a wound protector for specimen removal.
