The Suture Assistant simplifies laparoscopic suturing by eliminating a time-consuming step: knot tying. DURAKNOT®, our patented pretied-Knot Delivery System, reliably deploys an intracorporeal knot.

It is:

• Versatile – compatible with both absorbable and non-absorbable suture materials, designed to work with curved needles and any laparoscopic needle holder

The Suture Assistant is a sterile single-patient-use instrument designed to secure suture knots intracorporeally. This instrument has two levers: the first enables you to load the instrument and open the grasper, and the second contains a ratchet mechanism for controlled deployment of knots. Designed for use with the appropriate ENDOPATH® Trocars. (Trocar size depends on needle that is used).

Features include:

• Suture reload unit with six-inch ETHIBOND® EXCEL™ Polyester Suture (size 0 or size 2- 0) and SH needle
• Suture reload unit with six-inch VICRYL® (polyglactin 910) Suture (size 2-0) and SH needle
• Shaft retractor button on both sides for loading knot/grasper cartridges.

Reload Unit is a sterile single-patient device consisting of a knot/grasper cartridge comprised of approximately 6 inch (15cm) suture with pre-tied knot and an attached needle.

Any minimally invasive procedure where soft tissue is being approximated with interrupted suture technique.
