Ethicon Endo-Surgery Gastric Band Sutureless Port and Applier
Our Injection Port is a sterile, single-patient-use implant and is a required ancillary device for the Ethicon Endo-Surgery Curved Adjustable Gastric Band. It provides post-surgical access to the gastric band implant so that fluid can be added to or removed from the balloon.
The Gastric Band Sutureless Port body is manufactured from polyetheretherketone (PEEK), and it contains a silicone port septum and cobalt chromium fastening hooks. The Band Port body also has three integral suture holes in the event that sutures, rather than fastening hooks, have to be used to secure the port in place.
The Band Port contains radiopaque components that enable visualization under radiographic imaging. Non-clinical testing has demonstrated that the Band Port poses no known hazards when an MRI is performed under the following conditions:
- Static magnetic field of 3.0 Tesla or less
- Spatial gradient field of 3.25 Tesla/meter or less
The Ethicon Endo-Surgery Gastric Band Sutureless Applier is used to engage the fastening hooks on the Band Port, and to secure it on the fascia of the anterior rectus sheath or the abdominal oblique muscles. A safety release trigger helps to prevent accidental activation of the firing lever. The Band Port is not pre-loaded in the Port Applier.
Ethicon Endo-Surgery Gastric Band Dissector
Intended for use in laparoscopic or open procedures to facilitate dissection between tissue planes. Our endoscopic dissector is designed to create the retrogastric tunnel in the pars flaccida region and then to pull the Ethicon Endo-Surgery Curved Adjustable Gastric Band through the opening. Compatible with 5mm or 10mm trocars, the dissector offers comfortable one-handed operation for precise dissection and grasping.
Ethicon Endo-Surgery Gastric Calibration Tube
A flexible gastric tube with a 745mm-long silicone shaft and 12.7mm (38F) diameter for gastric and bariatric surgical procedures. It is available in two configurations, with the balloon expanded either symmetrically (360°) or asymmetrically (180°) to 25 ml fill volume. During the surgical procedure, this will help locate the area where the gastric pouch should be created. It can:
- Provide visible and tactile delineation of the antrum of the stomach
- Decompress the stomach
- Drain and remove gastric fluid
- Size a gastric pouch
Ethicon Endo-Surgery Huber Needles
Used to access the Band Port to add or remove saline. They are 20-22 gauge and have a Luer fitting for connecting to a standard syringe. Offered in two sizes, 50mm/22G and 90mm/20G.
