Hemorrhoidectomy

Two minimally invasive options for the treatment of hemorrhoids have both been shown to reduce post-operative pain and need for analgesics, while facilitating an earlier return to work when compared to traditional and electrocautery hemorrhoidectomy procedure approaches.

Procedure for the Prolapse of Hemorrhoids (PPH) has a unique advantage over traditional hemorrhoidectomies because the procedure is performed above the dentate line inside the anal canal, affecting fewer nerve endings.  The hemorrhoids are circumferentially devascularized, so they eventually shrink and involute, while the vascular cushions are raised to a more normal anatomic location.  It results in less post-operative pain in the first 14 days and less need for analgesics as compared to the Ferguson Hemorrhoidectomy.⁸

Traditional Hemorrhoidectomy using HARMONIC FOCUS® Curved Shears

When compared with electrocautery, result have shown:
