Parotidectomy

When performing a parotidectomy, the precise and gentle handling of delicate tissues and effective hemostasis help to achieve an optimal outcome.

Our HARMONIC FOCUS® Curved Shears device uses a precise ultrasonic vibrating blade that both coagulates and cuts, so you can dissect and spot coagulate with a single instrument. Because these shears deliver directed ultrasonic energy instead of electricity, there's minimal lateral thermal spread and desiccation of tissue – as well as no electricity passing into or through the patient's body.  Also, in superficial parotidectomies, they have been shown to reduce duration of drainage and incidence of transient facial nerve weakness.* These devices may be used to:
